What I've been building

Edged Energy · Design Technology & Generative Systems Intern · Jun 2026 – present

Seeing a 118 MW data center before it's built

Edged, an Endeavour company, develops waterless-cooled, AI-ready data centers. I lead product for the design visualization side of an NVIDIA Omniverse platform that lets sales, design, land, and test engineering teams explore campus designs before construction.

I gathered what each team needed, made wind CFD the MVP to prove the concept and supply the wind data used to set site orientation, and build features in Python and C++, including the pipeline that brings CFD results into Omniverse. I'm also integrating AI workflows into the platform, like an agentic workflow for visualization.

Heating greenhouses with data center waste heat

Almost all the power a data center uses ends up as heat, and most of it is thrown away. My thesis asks whether that heat can keep a nearby greenhouse warm year-round.

I’m modeling heat generation, recovery, storage, and delivery in MATLAB across four cooling scenarios, and using machine learning to generate predictive seasonal schedules that match greenhouse heating demand to data center operations.

Supporting UC Davis's move from steam to hot water

I supported HVAC design and layout in Revit and AutoCAD for campus and lab facilities, including UC Davis's Big Shift project, which is replacing campus steam heating with a hot water heat recovery and storage system. I also simulated thermal loads in IES VE to optimize mechanical designs to ASHRAE and LEED standards.

Outside the design work, I led an initiative to explain each engineering discipline to other groups, including a mechanical engineering lunch-and-learn for engineers and non-engineers.

Altanova · Building Performance Intern · Jun – Aug 2024

Cutting energy use in multifamily high-rises

Altanova is an energy and sustainability consulting firm. I audited four multifamily high-rises, taking field measurements and running boiler tests, and found changes to water fixtures, windows, and lighting fixtures and schedules that achieved more than 20% energy savings.

I also benchmarked energy use for carbon profiles and regulatory compliance and supported building commissioning.

Finding the market for a faculty-built microscope

I led our team's analysis of the market opportunity and commercialization path for a two-photon fluorescence microscope developed by Cornell faculty. We pitched our recommendations to a judging panel and won.

Apple Rehabilitation

Data Systems Engineering Intern · 2023–24

Built and rolled out a Smartsheet bed-tracking system with automated workflows, a custom API, and live occupancy and turnover reporting, used by the administrators of all 21 of the company's nursing homes.

Hydropower Collegiate Competition & SEA Lab

Cornell · 2022–2023

Owned the brine-stream mixing design for an integrated pumped hydro reverse osmosis (IPHROS) system, simulated in ANSYS. Headed our team's outreach and presented our work to the U.S. DOE Water Power Technologies Office and industry. We competed at the 2023 competition in Washington, D.C.

About

Why infrastructure

I grew up on a farm and spent five years managing the farm stand at Rosedale Farm and Vineyard, leading a staff of 20+. Growing up that close to the land is a big part of why I care about infrastructure that works for people and the environment at the same time.

That's what pulled me from HVAC design and energy audits toward AI infrastructure. AI runs on data centers, and data centers run on a lot of energy. I want to help design them well and build the tools that make that easier.

At Cornell, I'm launching a data center innovation community, including a summit in October 2026. I studied Mechanical Engineering with a Dyson Business Minor, graduating magna cum laude.

Getting outside

When I'm not working, I'm usually outside: running races, skiing, or hiking.
